Saudi Arabia’s National Additive Manufacturing and Innovation Company (NAMI) has received a Military Manufacturing License from the country’s General Authority for Military Industries (GAMI), authorizing the company to carry out regulated military manufacturing activities within the kingdom. NAMI is now one of a limited number of companies in Saudi Arabia holding the authorization, according to 3D Systems , the U.S. company that disclosed the license. NAMI is a joint venture between 3D Systems, Dussur (a Saudi Arabian Industrial Investments Company) and Saudi Energy, headquartered in Riyadh. The license is expected to support Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 goal of localizing more than 50% of military spending by 2030. It also allows NAMI to work more closely with international defense OEMs on the qualification and production of aerospace and defense components in the country. NAMI focuses on three sectors: military aerospace and defense, oil and gas, and energy generation and transmission . The company’s additive manufacturing capabilities also support supply chain resilience through localized, on-demand production of critical components. Regulated manufacturing expansion “This license expands NAMI’s addressable market and strengthens the foundation for long-term growth,” stated Eng Mohammed Swaidan, Chief Executive Officer at NAMI. “It enables us to deploy our established manufacturing capabilities across regulated defence programs, expand the production of mission-critical parts, and advance Saudi Arabia’s position in advanced manufacturing.” 3D Systems’ defense market position “The GAMI license further demonstrates the strategic value of our joint venture in Saudi Arabia,” said Dr Jeffrey Graves, President and Chief Executive Officer at 3D Systems . “It strengthens our ability to support leading defence OEMs as they pursue localisation and supply-chain resilience in the Kingdom, reinforcing 3D Systems’ position in the aerospace and defence markets.” Joseph Caron-Dawe August 5, 2026 1 minute read
